The G2U program welcomed its new cohort of 250 participants at the Fall Mentorship Kick-Off. The evening featured networking sessions for mentors and mentees, followed by a graduate student panel where speakers shared insights on the application process, student life, and their academic journeys. The event concluded with an engaging Jeopardy-style game that encouraged participants to connect, collaborate, and build community.
Our mentorship team hosted a Resume and Cover Letter workshop in collaboration with a Career Exploration Centre professional from Student Life to assist and guide students in writing well-formatted resumes and tailored cover letters for research, jobs, and experiential opportunities. The workshop included a feedback session, allowing students to get one-on-one advice and feedback on their resumes.
The mentorship team hosted a Time Management & Burnout workshop, a collaborative workshop hosted by URSA, UofTearless (founded by Simon Katkov), and Jad Al-Jawhari. The session features presentations on burnout prevention and time management followed by sessions of personalized Q&A with the speakers. The workshop aimed to help develop practical strategies and resources to support student academic well-being.
